Intensive English Academy
Summer and Fall 2020 Global Access Program
In response to COVID-19, College of the Desert is offering all new summer and fall 2020 international students a $400 Global Access Scholarships for fulltime online enrollment in the Intensive English Academy (IEA). With these scholarships, and not incurring the expenses related to in-person enrollment (housing, insurance, travel, etc.), new IEA students will save approximately 50% by starting their fulltime ESL program online this summer or fall!
Summer 2020 Global Access IEA Package
Total cost of $2,200 (scholarship included) provides:
- 8 weeks of fulltime academic ESL classes
- 27 hours per week of live Zoom and Canvas-based instruction from college ESL instructors
- Full access to college-based ESL online laboratory and learning programs
- One-on-one tutoring from native English speakers
- 24/7 student support services
- English proficiency waiver for admission into a COD academic program upon completion of IEA level 3
- Free Duolingo English Test access upon completion of IEA level 3
- Academic and transfer counseling support
Fall 2020 Global Access IEA Package
Total cost of $3,450 (scholarship included) provides:
- 16 weeks of fulltime academic ESL classes
- 25 hours per week of live Zoom and Canvas-based instruction from college ESL instructors
- Full access to college-based ESL online laboratory and learning programs
- One-on-one tutoring from native English speakers
- 24/7 student support services
- English proficiency waiver for admission into a COD academic program upon completion of IEA level 3
- Free Duolingo English Test access upon completion of IEA level 3
- Academic and transfer counseling support

Additional Program Requirements:
• Fulltime enrollment
• Payment of a non-refundable $250 program deposit
• Completion of online orientation program
• Full fee payment by specified deadlines
