Heat Pumps Certificate of Achievement
The Heat Pumps Certificate offers students the opportunity to learn the academic,
occupational, communication, and technical training skills needed by entry level technicians
in the Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) industry. All weather heating
and cooling systems, better known as heat pumps, are a specialized cost saving device
typically found in commercial buildings that are now becoming more commonplace in
residential buildings. Students completing this certificate will develop advanced
theory, troubleshooting, and service skills, as well as an advanced understanding
of heat pump schematics, components, and controls. This curriculum was developed in
collaboration with several community colleges and industry partners to provide a path
to careers that require heat pump technical servicing skills.
