18th Annual Transfer Recognition Ceremony

Event Description:
The Transfer Recognition Ceremony is a college- sponsored event to honor the students who are transferring to a 4 -year university to continue their studies beyond College of the Desert. This includes students in both Spring and Fall transfer terms for 2023-2024. Students are invited to register with the Transfer Center and will receive a certificate of recognition and the Transfer medallion that may be worn during Commencement. All students attending will be recognized and their transfer university name read as they cross the stage. This event will be YouTube Live broadcasted on this date and a recording available following the event. Students are invited to bring friends and family and there is currently no limit. The theater seats 1,100 and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. There are no vaccination requirements to attend this event. Students needing any accomodations to attend this event should contact the DSPS office
The event will be approximately 1.5 hours in length and will feature a President’s message, student speakers, and awarding of the Transfer Advocate of the Year award to a faculty or classified staff member selected by the student transfer class. A reception following the ceremony will take place outside the McCallum Theater with light refreshments provided.
