Auditions for 'In the Heights'

To be presented May 3-6, 2018 in the McCallum Theater with the full Broadway orchestrations.
The Director is Shafik Wahhab, with Musical Director Scott T. Smith, and Choreographer Jacqueline LeBlanc.


 Audition dates:


 Primary:   Tuesday December 5, 2017, 6 to 10 p.m.
                Wednesday December 6, 2017, 6 to 10.p.m.
Callbacks: Saturday December 9, 2017, 1 to 8 p.m.
 
 
 
The primary evening audition slots (5 minute increments) will be by reservation from 6 to 9 p m., 9 to 10 p.m. will be a dance call for everyone.  Email your preferred time slot request (i.e: 6:20 p.m.) to:  ssmith@collegeofthedesert.edu.
 

Smith will respond to your email either with a confirmation, or with alternate slots if your preferred time is already taken. Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before your assigned slot to fill out paperwork. Bring a bio and headshot to submit.
 
Please provide legible and clearly marked sheet music for a stylistically appropriate musical theater song, 32 bars maximum. Songs from the show are fine. No karaoke, an accompanist will be provided.

College of the Desert is a California Community College and, as a condition of participation, each cast/crew member must be enrolled for credit in a production-related course. The credit course assigned to the IN THE HEIGHTS cast is MUS-085-1937 (Musical Theatre Production) – 2 units. The credit course assigned to the Spring 2018 production crews is TA-031-2079 (Tech Production) – 2 units.  Fees Apply.
