Community Engagement in Online Courses

College of the Desert is working hard to improve online course retention and success rates. What we know is that online students usually struggle because they feel disconnected from the course, their instructor, and other students. But there are ways to help bring a sense of community to your online course.

Several COD faculty will be leading workshops this fall and all faculty are encouraged to come find out things they can do this semester to improve the sense of community online students need to be successful!
