Chapter 33 ~ Post-9/11 GI Bill - Rate of Pursuit ~ Semester Unit Load (as of 8/1/11)
Monthly Full-time BAH Rate at College of the Desert is $1743 per month
if qualify for the 100% rate - 3 or more years Post 9/10/01 Service.
(If Service is less than 3 years, the amount will be pro-rated accordingly-contact the VA if you have questions)
More than Half-Time: 7 or more units Cost of in-state enrollment and other required fees paid directly to the college (does not include Out-of-State/Non-Resident Fees, Parking or Student ID).
Monthly Housing Allowance at E-5 with Dependents Rate at the location of the School
Yearly books & supplies stipend of up to $1,000 per year paid directly to the student (approximately $41.67 per unit)
Half-Time or Less: 6 units or less
Only Cost of in-state enrollment and other required fees paid directly to the college (does not include Out-of-State/Non-Resident Fees, Parking or Student ID).
Chapters 30, 35, 1606 & 1607 - Training Time ~ Semester Unit Load
- Full-time: 12 or more units
- 3/4-time: 9 to 11 units
- 1/2-time: 6 to 8 units
- 1/4-time: 3 to 5 units**
Please note: 1/4-time rate is for Chapter 1606 students only. Chapter 30, 35 and 1607 students would only be eligible to receive the amount they paid for their enrollment and health fees not to exceed the 1/4-time rate (parking and books are not included!).
Summer Session, Intersession and Short-term coursesare computed proportionately for payment purposes.
