English As A Second Language (ESLN) Non Credit Program
College of the Desert offers a variety of ESL courses, both credit and non credit (see ESL and ESLN) depending on the goals you wish to achieve. Placement into the Non-Credit ESLN courses is determined by an ESL placement test. The ESLN non-credit program offers six levels of English at the Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Levels. After completing the ESLN Program, you will have the language skills necessary to move on to many exciting careers or further studies. So call now and make an appointment to see a counselor.

Registration for ESLN classes is on an open entry, space available basis.

Students holding F-1 or Visitor Visas are not eligible for ESLN classes but are encouraged to contact the
International Education Office at (760) 776-7205.

Books: Books are available at no cost to students in ESL classes only.

Classes Offered
Please consult most current class schedule for specific levels and times.
Conversation and Pronunciation classes meet at various times throughout the day, please consult current class schedule. Classes are also offered weekends.
Additional support is available at the language laboratory. This lab allows students to practice their English skills with audio tapes and computer software.
