The following services are available at our Indio Campus.

On occasion, hours or services can vary.
Please confirm all hours with the Administration Office by calling (760) 776-7200.

The Roadrunner Café first opened in the Fall 2018 semester as part of a Work Experience class. Participating students plan, organize, operate, staff and manage the café as a real start-up business. Each semester represents an entire business life-span. Students receive school credit for the work, and revenue generated sustains the café and helps provide money for general student scholarship assistance.

The café not only helps engage the students in learning business concepts but successfully provides students with a chance to get their hands on real business and control everything from merchandising, accounting, scheduling, inventory, and marketing.

The general public and students are invited to stop in to grab a bite or drink at the student-operated eatery.

The menu features premade TKB sandwiches; grab-and-go snacks; fountain and bottled drinks; coffee; and more.

The Cafe will reopen in the Fall 2020 Semester in coordination with the Indio Bookstore!

For more information, please call 760-636-7990.

The Indio Campus Bookstore provides the same services as the Palm Desert Campus Bookstore:

  • Textbook Rental Program
  • Price Match (see Bookstore staff for details)
  • Financial Aid Vouchers

The bookstore also sells a variety of COD apparel items, Scantrons, snacks, and supplies. The bookstore is located on the Northeast side of the Indio Campus.

In the Spring of 2019, the Associated Students of College of the Desert (ASCOD) voted on and approved the implementation of a mandatory transportation fee. The resolution passed with a 61% majority. Beginning Spring 2020, all students will see the mandatory $25 transportation fee appearing on their student account and registration statement for Fall and Spring semesters only.

To learn more about the transportation fee and review a list of frequently asked questions, please visit the Transportation fee page.

For questions regarding the ASCOD transportation resolution, please contact the Office of Student Life at (760) 862-1317.

Students must be enrolled at the College of the Desert to be eligible. Students will use their active student ID card by swiping them through the SunBus card reader on the farebox. Should you require assistance, bus operators can help.

Students who have yet to obtain their college ID cards can obtain their ID at multiple locations. For the Indio Campus, visit the Administration Office on the second floor.

IDs are issued at the Indio Campus Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. You will need to show some form of a photo ID (either a driver’s license, state-issued ID, or a recent High School Photo ID). You also need to present either your official class schedule or registration statement to confirm enrollment. You can show either of these on your phones or the computers in the Office of Student Life.

ID cards are also issued at the Palm Desert and Palm Springs Campus locations. For a full listing of hours and sites, please contact the Office of Student Life at 760.862.1317.
