Registration Checklist

To help you get started as a student at College of the Desert, please complete the items below. If you need assistance, call (760) 773-2521 and leave a message with your name and student ID number.

  1. Student ID Number

    I have received my COD Student ID via email after completing the COD application.

  2. Log into MyCOD

    I have logged into the MyCOD portal as a “First Time Login".

  3. Online Orientation

    (760) 773-2521. I have completed the Online New Student Orientation. Log into WebAdvisor, once you are logged into the “Student Menu,” find the “Orientation Link” under the Academic Profile section.


    I have completed the EDGE/PLEDGE application online.

  5. Financial Aid

    (760) 773-2532. Required for all PLEDGE/EDGE students. I have completed the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or California Dream Act Application.

  6. Select your Major and Classes

    I have watched the My First Schedule Workshop and chosen courses for my major and/or general education goals.

  7. Learn how to use Web Advisor for Registration

    I have viewed the How to Register for Classes video. I have practiced using WebAdvisor.

  8. Registration Date

    I have viewed “My Registration Information” in WebAdvisor to learn my day and time.

  9. Registration

    On your priority registration date, enroll in the classes you have selected. I have viewed the How to Register for Classes video in WebAdvisor.

  10. Pay Fees

    I have paid my fees online using WebAdvisor within 3 days of registering for my classes. PLEDGE students and students receiving financial aid will not have to pay.

  11. Attend Classes

    I will go to class the first day it meets or check in on Canvas for online courses. I should contact the professor to be considered for my “wait list” classes if I would like to add them. I will get an add code for my wait list courses. Add Permit Code Instructions
