Contest Parking Violation Requests

A person who wishes to contest a Notice of Parking Violation or a Notice of Delinquent Parking Violation may request a review of the parking violation by completing the "Contest of Parking Violation" form.

  1. Complete all blank fields. This form cannot be submitted unless all fields are filled. When complete a "submit" button will appear.  If information is not available indicate with N/A. (Incomplete information may result in denial of appeal.)

  2. Explain your situation fully as to why the vehicle was not in violation. The Parking Administrator's decision will be based on your written explanation.

  3. Submit by email or print form and mail to the address at the bottom of this page. Include copies of all applicable documentation relating to your appeal (documentation will not be returned). Example: COD permit receipt; DMV Disabled placard ID receipt.

NOTE: Lack of knowledge is not an adequate reason for dismissal. It is the student's or staff member's responsibility to properly display the current parking permit and park only in authorized parking spaces.

The contest form must be completed and submitted to the Parking Office within 21 calendar days of the Notice of Parking Violation or within 14 calendar days of the Notice of Delinquent Parking Violation. The results of the Parking Administrator's decision will be mailed to the address filled in on the form. If the parking violation is canceled, the owner of the vehicle will need to take no further steps but retain the form for his/her records.

If the parking violation stands, the original fine must be paid within 21 calendar days of the mailing of the review decision or the fine will increase an additional $30 and the total citation fee will be forwarded to DMV to refuse registration until the citation is paid.

If the person contesting the parking violation is not satisfied with the results of the initial review, the person may within 21 calendar days of the mailing of the review decision deposit the amount of the parking fine with the Parking Office and request a hearing by an examiner.

The person will be contacted by the College as to the date and time of the hearing within 90 days.
