Red Shirt Sophomore Daisy Macias from Cathedral City High School and Red Shirt Freshman Onalise Rodriguez from Indio both signed their National Letters of Intent on Tuesday November 11, 2014. The two ladies expected to make an immediate impact in the outfield for the Comets this spring will leave Jan 5th for North Dakota. The local stars have elected to forgo their spring season with the Roadrunners and accept scholarship offers to transfer at the break to Mayville State University. The signing of Rodriguez and Macias marks an unprecedented 10 Roadrunners signed on scholarship in the last 11 months.

Sophomore Pitcher/1B - Danyelle Sturm has finally made her Choice! - The 2014 All-American and Foothill Conference Player of the Year has accepted her scholarship and committed to Division I - California State Bakersfield
College of the Desert's Career Home Run Leader has signed her scholarship offer with California State San Bernardino. Alyssa leaves the Roadrunners as a two time All-State and two time Foothill Conference Pitcher of the Year. Alyssa will become the 3rd Roadrunner in the last 4 years to wear a Coyote uniform.
Riverside—The UC Riverside Athletics Department hosted its 2013-14 SCOTTY Awards on Thursday evening at Hub 302 on UCR's campus, honoring the achievements of the 2013-14 Highlanders student-athletes.
Softball athlete Karina Romero was the recipient of the Hueston M. & Margaret W. Harper Award Scholarship, presented annually to the UCR varsity athlete—a freshman, sophomore or junior—whose athletic and scholarly achievements are deemed most outstanding. The recipient must have a GPA of at least 3.20.
Romero transferred to UCR from College of the Desert and is a Palm Springs High School Graduate.

Red Shirt Freshman Janelle Eccles signed her scholarship offer with Azusa Pacific University and will leave at the break and play for Azusa this spring (2014). Eccles who redshirted at Cal State San Marcos transferred to College of the Desert in the Fall of 2012. Eccles led the Roadrunners in Home Runs in 2013 and of course will forever be remembered as the Roadrunner who hit the Grand Slam (pictured above) to win the program's 1st ever Super Regional game. Eccles had planned on returning for the 2014 season, but Azusa made her an offer she couldn't refuse and with her AA Degree Completed we are excited to announce that she has matriculated and is moving NOW! Sophomore Felicia Gonzales Signs her National Letter of Intent and Scholarship Offer with Mayville State University of North Dakota. Gonzales who was the De Anza League's Most Valuable Player in 2012 played just one season with the Roadrunners in 2013 and has elected to transfer at the semester break where she is expected play immediately for the Comets

The Roadrunners won game 1 Saturday 8-4 and game 2 on Sunday 7-6 on a thrilling walk-off 2 run Homer by Palm Springs Grad Karina Romero. Desert advances to the Super Regionals this weekend at Mount San Antonio!

Congratulations to Christa Blaquiere who pitched a complete game victory in the Gold Medal Game of the Western Canadian Championship! This travel ball tournament finale
featured the two top teams from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. Christa led her team to the overall Championship with a complete game victory on the mound in the Championship Game! Blaquiere who was an honorable mention all-conference player this past season for the Roadrunners is currently attending school and playing softball at Augsburgh University in Minnesota!
Roadrunners Team up with FIND Food Bank - Friday - Ocotber 26th!
Roadrunners have a long standing history with community service. Last year the ladies hosted the first annual Breast Cancer Awareness Friendly at College of the Desert. The picture to the left was taken in 2011 when the ladies volunteered for a food drive at Monterey Country Club.

College of the Desert wins the San Diego City Tournament - The Roadrunners went 4-0 in the tournament only allowing 3 total runs for the entire weekend. On Friday the Roadrunners beat Grossmont 8-0 in 5 innings then won the next game 5-1 against Santa Barbara City College. COD was elected as the #1 seed for Championship play on Saturday - after having bye the first round - the Roadrunners watched in disbelief as Saddleback College packed their bags and elected not to play the semi-final game after defeating Napa Valley CC. The next highest seed was awarded the game and the Roadrunners defeated Allan Hancock 3-1 to advance to the Championship Game. Grossmont College rebounded from their Friday loss against COD and won 3 straight games to earn a place in the Championship Game. However, they suffered the same fate as the day before losing 9-1 in 6 innings to the Tournament Champions - College of the Desert! Alyssa Fuimaono was selected to the All-Tournament Team and was honored as the tournament MVP!
