ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (ESLN)
ESLN Registration is on an open-entry, space available basis, through the 7th week of the term.
 
New ESLN Students:
1.  ESLN students must complete the online College of the Desert admission application by going to www.collegeofthedesert.edu and clicking “Getting Started” and then “Complete online Application” OR come into Admissions and Records to fill out a paper application. (INDIO campus students: visit the Indio campus for a paper application.)
 
 
2.  All new ESLN students are required to complete an ESLN EntryTest.  
        -If you complete the online application, allow 2 -3 business days for your Student ID# to be sent via email, then click here to schedule an appoinment for your ESLN Entry Test.

      -For those completing the paper application at the Palm Desert OR Indio Campus, your appoinment will be schedule once the application is completed.
 
 
Continuing ESLN Students:
1.    Continuing ESLN students that meet the prerequisite for ESLN IV or V must complete
the online College of the Desert admission application by going to www.collegeofthedesert.edu and clicking “Getting Started” and then “Complete online Application” ​
2.  Enroll for classes via WebAdvisor, and pay your fees.
3.  For Levels Foundation, 1, 2 and 3 please go to the Admission and Records office for assistance. (INDIO campus students: visit the Indio campus for assistance with registration.)
 
Returning ESLN Students:
1.    Returning ESLN students ​with a lapse in attendance of one year or more should wishing to enroll in ESLN IV or V must complete the online College of the Desert admission application by going to www.collegeofthedesert.edu and clicking “Getting Started” and then “Complete online Application” ​OR come into Admissions and Records to fill out a paper application. (INDIO campus students: visit the Indio campus for a paper application.)
     - For those students who have only missed one semester please refer to "Continuing ELSN Students" above.

 ESLN Entry Test:
 
 Student must arrive 15 minutes early to their schedule ESLN Entry Test.
Those students scoring into ESLN levels: Foundation, I, II or III, will be enroll for classes following their test time (as long as class seats are available).
 
Students placing in ESLN levels IV or V will receive information in writing telling them what section numbers to enroll in. Students will be given an instruction sheet and directions on where to receive help to enroll and pay the fees in WebAdvisor.
