College of the Desert Marks Art Center Hosts Exhibition Celebrating 60 Years of COD

College of the Desert is proud to announce “Celebrating 60 Years of COD” running Oct. 10 through Nov. 7 at the Marks Art Center. The installation features a visual presentation of then to now—with a continuous narrative and a timeline of COD’s past and present.

“Guests can take part and tell their own COD story with a hands-on participatory experience,” said Anna-Marie Veloz interim faculty director at the center.

An opening reception will be held 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10. Special guests include COD Superintendent/President Joel L. Kinnamon Ed.D., who will help open the reception.

Free and open to the public, the reception will also feature local band, Avenida Music. Light refreshments will also be served.

The Walter N. Marks Center for the Arts is a nonprofit facility that supports arts education and enriches the cultural life of students, faculty and the Coachella valley community. The center is located at 43500 Monterey Ave., Palm Desert. The gallery is open between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and by appointment.
