Learning In Retirement Walk-In Registration Held at COD Oct. 11 & 18


Learning in Retirement, a local non-profit organization, will hold two walk-in registration sessions on College of the Desert’s (COD) Palm Desert campus. Both registration sessions are from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday Oct. 11 and 18 in the Liberal Arts Building.

College of the Desert is the host site for the Learning In Retirement (LIR) classes for the 2013-2014 season.

Beginning October 21, Learning In Retirement will hold their Fall 2013 eight-week session in COD’s Liberal Arts Building. LIR’s classes are designed specifically for those ages 50 and above who want to learn for the pure enjoyment of learning.

The two-hour classes are led by facilitator instructors with extensive knowledge in their field of expertise. The variety of topics they are offering include: Cinema, Short Fiction, Great Literature, Political & Economic Issues, The Roberts Supreme Court, Controversial Issues, Entertainment Classics, Spanish 101, Conversational French, History of England, Hot News/Hot Views, Writing Your Life Story and a Litigator’s View.

Select any five topics for only $50 per person. Participants can register in person or online. More class information and a downloadable mail-in registration form are available at the LIR’s website at, or call 760.328.1207 or 760.674.0618.
