Home Games Have Themes and Music
College of the Desert’s Roadrunners will play Mt. San Antonio on Saturday, Oct. 5 on Boone Field. The game starts at 6 p.m.
Cheer on the Roadrunners Saturday evenings at their home games while
Heatwave, Jazz and Show Band, the Boys & Girls Clubs youth band, performs during the game. The group will be playing to provide added entertainment and spirit to the game.
Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for students and seniors (over 55) and children under 8 are free. All home games are played on Boone Field near the San Pablo Avenue entrance on the Palm Desert Campus.
Roadrunner supporters are encouraged to attend all of the games but if you can only fit a few into your schedule here are some of the activities that have been planned so far:
Sept. 14, Family Night:
COD employees, Board members as well as the
Foundation and Alumni Association employees and Board members including all of their family members get in free. Enter at Simonds gate. Enjoy Pop Warner football and youth cheerleaders at half-time.
Oct. 12, Homecoming:
At half-time see the float designed and created by volunteers and the Associated Students at COD (ASCOD). Watch the coronation of Homecoming King and Queen. Relive the past with the Alumni Cheerleaders who help cheer on the Roadrunners.
Nov. 9, Military, Veterans and First Responders Night:
Bring your military, first responder or veteran identification to get in free. Enter at Simonds gate. During half-time learn more about the 29 Palms Marines and the Iron Horse Marines organization.
Heatwave was formed in 2007 as part of a program by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation to enhance the music program at the Boys & Girls Clubs. Heatwave performs and travels throughout Southern California. Check out their website for dates and locations of their next performances:
