Library 'Friends' Author Luncheon Set
Friends of the College of the Desert Library (FOTL) will hold its annual fundraising event on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, beginning at 11:30 a.m. All proceeds benefit the College of the Desert Library.
The luncheon and book signing with guest speaker, Heidi Durrow, author of The Girl Who Fell from the Sky, will be held at Rancho Las Palmas Resort, 41-000 Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage, CA. Each attendee will receive a complimentary copy of the book
which received writer Barbara Kingsolver's 2008 Bellwether Prize for Literature of Social Change, and is already a book club favorite. The Girl Who Fell From the Sky has been hailed as one of the Best Novels of 2010 by the Washington Post, a Top 10 Book of 2010 by The Oregonian, a Top 10 Buzz Book of 2010 by the Boston Herald and named a Top 10 Debut of 2010 by Booklist.
