COD Street Fair Open an Extra Day on Thanksgiving Weekend and Desert Carolers Will Stroll on Friday and Saturday

College of the Desert Alumni Association will expand its popular Street Fair to three-days on Thanksgiving weekend. In addition to the regular Saturday-Sunday schedule, the Street Fair will also open Friday, Nov. 23, 2013. Hours each day are 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Alumni is presenting The Desert Carolers who will be strolling through the large Street Fair singing your holiday favorites from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 23 and 24, 2013.
The Desert Carolers wear authentic Dickens era costumes and perform in quartets singing traditional carols and lively new arrangements of holiday songs. For the last 20 years, this group of professional performers has been enhancing events in the Coachella Valley including office parties, banquets, country clubs, private parties, shopping malls, tree lighting ceremonies, and other special events.
The Street Fair is open every Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is a great outdoor experience featuring over 300 merchant vendors with a unique selection of gifts for all occasions. Do not miss the farmer’s market, arts & crafts section or the food court plaza. There is free admission, free parking, and free entertainment.
The COD Alumni Association uses proceeds from the Street Fair to donate grants, gifts, and scholarships to College of the Desert. Since its inception 29 years ago, the Alumni Association has donated more than $9.3million to the college.
