The College of the Desert department of Arts & Media is
pleased to announce the second COD Entertainment Technology Symposium on
Friday, February 14, 2014. The symposium will feature a panel discussion of
working professionals in the entertainment industry, particularly in film and

(make-up artist, COD alum), Shay Funk (Business Agent, IATSE Local 707), Sheri
Davis (Director, Inland Empire Film Division), Don Phillip Smith (Casting
Director & Script Developer), Brad Mercer (Director), and Leanna Bonamici (CCO & Co-Founder,
CV Studios Entertainment).
The open forum discussion is open to students, educators, and
community members interested in working in the entertainment industry. Local
organizations will also be on hand to highlight industry opportunities
throughout the Coachella Valley. The symposium will begin in the Pollock
Theatre at 12:30 p.m. with a panel discussion. Exhibits, networking and
refreshments will continue after the panel discussion in Theater Too.
Admission is free, but reservations are required as space is
limited. Note that most other College offices will be closed for the Presidents
Day holiday on February 14.
