Recognizes Cadets at Ceremony
The 26th College of the Desert (COD)
Public Safety Academy Basic Peace Officer Training Awards Ceremony will be held
on Thursday, December 12, at 3 p.m. at COD’s Public Safety Academy located on
the Palm Desert Campus. The ceremony will be preceded by a formal cadet
inspection at 2:30 p.m.
Approximately 25 Module II and III
cadets will be receiving certificates for meeting the training requirements
prescribed by the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training for Level
II and III-Reserve Peace Officers in the State of California.
The keynote speaker will be COD
Professor of Administration of Justice and former PSA Director Clayton Mayes.
Welcoming remarks will be provided by COD Superintendent/President Joel
Kinnamon. Cadet Khristina Clous will be providing remarks on behalf of Module
III, and Cadet Michael Leguillow will be providing remarks on behalf of Module
II. Selected cadets will be recognized for their excellence in leadership,
academics and marksmanship. Several scholarships will also be presented. A
reception will immediately follow.
The event is open to faculty, staff,
alumni, family, friends and the public.
