Desert Community College District Trustees Approve New Vice President of Administrative Services
Desert Community College District Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Lisa B. Howell as the new Vice President of Administrative Services for the college.
Ms. Howell is a thirty-year veteran in educational finance with experience in fiscal services starting from professional entry level positions to Assistant Superintendent. Most recently, she served the Palm Springs Unified School District (PSUSD) as Assistant Superintendent of Business Services with responsibilities in all areas of business management including budgeting, facilities planning and construction, purchasing, maintenance and operations, transportation and nutrition services. She was responsible for the fiscal and operational oversight of the Palm Springs District’s $275 million budget.

Ms. Howell will oversee management and operation of all business affairs of the Desert Community College District and for developing and recommending policy, goals and objectives for such services. The Vice President provides leadership in the areas of fiscal services, operations and controls, budget development, purchasing, facilities services, insurance and risk management, security services, and contract services. College of the Desert has an annual budget of approximately $40 million.
