The 27th College of the Desert (COD) Public
Safety Academy (PSA) Basic Peace Officer Training Awards Ceremony will be held
Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 6 p.m. at the McCallum Theatre. The ceremony will be
preceded by a formal cadet inspection at 5:15 p.m.
Approximately 40 cadets from both Module
III and II basic peace officer training programs will be receiving certificates
for meeting the training requirements prescribed by the Commission on Peace
Officer Standards and Training for Level III and II-Reserve Peace Officers in
the State of California.
The keynote speaker will be Retired Cathedral City Chief of Police and COD Adjunct Stan Henry. Welcoming remarks will be provided
by COD President/Superintendent Joel L. Kinnamon, Ed.D. Cadet class leaders
from both Module III and II will be providing remarks on behalf of their
classmates. Selected cadets will be recognized for their excellence in
leadership, academics and marksmanship. Several scholarships will also be
presented. A reception will immediately follow.
