Office Web Apps will be made available through the institutions’ Live@edu programs for K-20 in 2010. These are lightweight versions of familiar Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote) delivered through the browser, allowing faculty, staff and students to access and collaborate on documents from virtually anywhere.
MSDN Academic Alliance offers the simplest and most-inexpensive way to provide the latest Microsoft software to labs, classrooms, and PCs used by students studying science and technology in your institutions. It provides access to all the latest Microsoft developer tools, servers, and platforms in a single, comprehensive package which simplifies licensing, deployment and staying current with software updates. It helps faculty, and the network managers who support them, better prepare students for their future careers by removing obstacles to accessing the latest technology. There are two subscription types—Developer AA for Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) departments, and Designer AA for Visualization Illustration Design and Art (VIDA) departments.

Photosynth takes your photos, mashes them together and recreates a 3D scene out of them that anyone can view and move around in. Different than static photos and video, Photosynth allows you to explore details of places, objects, and events unlike any other media. You can’t stop video, move around and zoom in to check out the smallest details, but with Photosynth you can. And you can’t look at a photo gallery and immediately see the spatial relation between the photos, but with Photosynth you can.
Microsoft Semblio allows faculty to create rich, immersive learning environments that are highly interactive and foster exploratory learning that faculty can customize, and that promotes collaboration.
Microsoft Math Worksheet Generator generates multiple math problems based on a sample, then creates a worksheet that you can distribute.

The prototypes and ideas on this site are incubation projects and aren’t actual products or features from the Microsoft Education Group.
