Exhibition: December 5, 2016 - February 9, 2017 Marks Art Center at College of the Desert

The Marks Art Center is pleased to announce a new exhibition of work by COD faculty, opening Monday December 5 and running through Thursday February 9, with an artists' reception on Thursday, December 8, from 5:00-7:00 p.m.; the event is free and open to the public, and music and refreshments will be provided.
The exhibition includes photography, acrylic paintings, encaustic paintings, drawings, prints, and other two-dimensional and three-dimensional mixed media work, and faculty represented include Judith Cook, Ray Ewing, Ida Foreman, Dennis Johnson, Scott Klinger, Emily Maddigan, Yuki Toyooka Smith, Maggie Tennesen, and Anna-Marie Veloz. 

Open Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.; and by appointment; always free & open to the public.  The Marks Art Center (MAC) is a non-profit cultural and educational facility; committed to excellence, MAC provides a venue for creative exploration and community engagement.  For more information, call the Marks Art Center at (760) 776-7278, or go to <>.

Ongoing Exhibition

Selections from the college's African Art Collection are on display in the College of the Desert Library. The school library is adjacent to the Palm Desert Library on the south side of campus on Fred Waring Dr. between Monterey Ave. and San Pablo Ave. Images of individual artworks can be seen below.
