The Marks Art Center is thrilled to participate in this College of the Desert tradition. After the Catrina Skeletal Dress Contest and altar dedication and blessing at the quad students and visitors will follow a procession to the Marks Art Center where they will find more altars, food, and performances. Visitors will be asked to vote for their favorite altar, presented by various clubs and campus organizations, and prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Campus clubs will also be selling food to raise funds to support their organizations, and beginning at 6 p.m. the Ballet Folklórico Club will perform in the courtyard outside of the gallery. On this evening the gallery will also extend its hours so visitors can enjoy the current exhibition while they experience all the festivities for Día de los muertos.
